Chasing Light
I've always been drawn to light. My Grandma always called me the Sunshine Boy. When I picked up a camera and started making photos in high school I never really understood that light itself was the medium I was working with. With this new trek into photography for me I've started to learn, and learn real quick, how important knowing light truly is for this artform.
From my parent's house in Evergreen I saw this hill. It didn't seem too far away and it had the perfect break in the trees to actually see the sun setting. I asked my Dad to go with me and he agreed. After a much more intense hike downhill than expected and then a much more intense hike up we finally made it. But as the light went over the mountains nothing that spectacular happened.
It wasn't until we made it back home and stood on our deck that the sun hit the clouds at the right angle and the skies started to sing. Sometimes you've just got to hold out a little and then magic occurs.
